ubtitle text This song goes with my July 5th blog article, "What Does God Require?" I wrote it during my
grief after my former husband died of cancer in 2003.
Sometimes grief helps us focus on what is of utmost importance
in our lives. I realized at that
point that my relationship to God
is of utmost importance.
I can always cling to God and depend on Him.
I Love You, LORD!
by
Judith Vander Wege
I love you, LORD.
You’re mine forever.
You’re my Redeemer,
King, and friend.
You’ve paid the price;
your blood has saved me.
You gave me life
that will never end.
You’ll never leave;
you’ll hold me tight.
The devil’s lost!
You have won the fight.
What now, my LORD?
What shall I do
to let you know
how much I love you?
You gave me peace
that I can’t fathom,
an inner joy
in the midst of pain.
I want to be
your chosen vessel.
“To live is Christ
and to die is gain.”
You’ll lead me on
o’er land and sea.
To be with you
is where I want to be.
What now my LORD?
What shall I do?
A yielded life
shows that I love you.
Since this song was a prayer, God answered me in my heart. Jesus
will never leave me or forsake me.
He is my Redeemer, King, and best friend. He will hold on to me and I’ll be safe.
I felt a peace, knowing that I don’t need to know the answers to all my questions.
I just need to remember he makes everything work for good for those who love him.
This assurance gives me joy in the midst of pain. The song ended with my
yielding to my LORD, Jesus Christ. He is my Master. I realized this is all He wants of me --
to yield to Him and obey Him daily as He leads me step by step.
A yielded life shows that I trust Jesus, that I am holding on to him. And that trust is what glorifies him.
